You only win when you are singing, all the time.
Life is not about only happy living in highs. Life is about keeping ok throughout it all, whatever comes a long.
It’s easy to sing when you are winning.
In fact the song just self creates. In the moment of feeling like all is good in the world, like you are nailing this, the tunes just flow from every part of your body.
But. We want to sing all the time. We want that nice energy to flow even when we are not winning. In fact we need that songful energy even more when we are not winning, and yet the tune fades.
So mastering life, mastering the art of trying, has to involve the art of mastering how to sing when you are not winning.
This doesn’t mean being super positive, all the time. This doesn’t mean that you can’t have a low day. This doesn’t mean the pretending everything is ok when it isn’t.
This is about knowing how to navigate through the lows so that they don’t feel so low. So you allow yourself to float on the waves for a while before embracing the waves again, rather than allow yourself to sink.
Sinking takes more energy to get going again. Although don’t underestimate the power of the hitting the ocean floor and using it as a springboard to bounce back up. If you need to sink, sink knowing that bounce back is coming.
So, as we navigate yet another ‘no’, another ghosting, another empty pipeline of hope and ideas, the trick is to float through it. Know that you’ll get that ‘yes’ soon, that new burst of energy is coming.
So while we recharge and gather our thoughts, we float, and keep the singing going. Even if it’s a gentle tune.
Life is not about only happy living in highs. Life is about keeping ok throughout it all, whatever comes a long.
You only win when you are singing, all the time.
