Do you Wordle?
(Is Wordle a noun? A verb? An adverb? A what? )
Maybe it’s Do you do Wordle?
I don’t. I didn’t quite get into it. I was surprised I didn’t because it’s exactly the kind of thing I would get into, but I didn’t. Didn’t even look.
I couldn’t quite see where it fitted in.
If I still had a commute, it would probably fit in there. But 30 seconds up my stairs to my office is now my commute, and no time for Wordling (?) there.
My friend says she does it every day, at some point, she finds a moment, with a cup of tea, and does it, and posts it on Facebook. I don’t understand that at all. ‘Why? What do you want from that?’ I ask. ‘Not really thought about Why, just that’s what you do?’ she says, not bothered about finding a Why.
I guess there are lots of things we just do just because, and I guess that’s Ok? It’s all about choice, right?
But the same friend really wants to leave her job. She talks about it all the time. And has a great idea for what else she could do. But she says she hasn’t time to look into the idea. So she stays in her job, and stays moaning about it, and stays wishing she could leave.
Now. I hold space here.
She is free to make her choices.
No judgement here… (well, I’m trying).
But. I just want to go… Maybe stop the Wordle thing, do the leaving job thing instead. But it’s not my place. We can all choose.
And there is nothing wrong with Wordle. It might be your escape. Your rest. Your joy. Your fun.
But it might also be your distraction, your excuse.
We’ve all probably got Wordles in our life.
Those things we just do, because. And it could be Ok. But they could also be holding you back.
It’s only for us to decide that.

My 18 yo son and I Wordle against each other. We don't share our results with anyone else. We also do Heardle (sp?) together. I do my wordle while eating my breakfast so not a procrastination thing
