Always tell the truth.
I was on a (long) train journey today so started watching the film Ibiza (my friend said it was funny).
It was. It was more than funny. It was stupid. And several times I laughed out loud. The lady opposite me smiled. I took my headphones out, ‘sorry, was I being loud’. ‘Yes’ she said ‘But what we’re you laughing at?’. In a split second I decided she would not have watched Ibiza, it doesn’t sound funny, it’s hard to explain why I was laughing. So instead I heard myself say ‘Mr Bean’.
‘Ooh the new one?’ She beamed (beaned). ‘No, ehm, the old one’ I realised this was not vibing well, and I’m being gifted a lesson here.
She then gushed about a favourite scene on Mr Bean (on holiday ?) that made her lol describing it in detail. She was a massive Mr Bean fan. She loved she’d met another fan. Fortunately for me she was so excited she didn’t ask me anything else just shared all her favs.
I have never watched Mr Bean.
I was saved by the ticket inspector.
Sometimes we get a little gift reminding us to keep on track, never make things up, always stick to the truth, even if it’s awkward.
