“The moment you realise you are not present, you become present. Whenever you are able to observe your mind, you are no longer trapped in it. Another factor has come in, something that is not of the mind: the witnessing presence.
Nothing has happened in the past; it happened in the Now. Nothing will ever happen in the future; it will happen in the Now.”
― Eckhart Tolle, The Power of Now
It’s this kind of thing that gets me thinking. I’m reading The Power of Now at the moment. It’s one of this books you read, and then read the page again because although you’ve read it, nothing has gone in. I wonder if it’s some kind of clever mediation itself.
So my take so far.
We only have now, and what we are making of now.
But we are so busy with yesterday, and tomorrow, we forget about today, this moment, that we are in right now.
And now is all we really have, so we need to make the most of it.
So right now, I’m going to close my laptop for the night and be more present. My daughter will wonder what is going on, Mummy without a laptop open, but I’m going to do it.
Because all I’ve got right now, is now.

I love Eckhart Tolle. Power of now has gotten me through some really tough times. Thanks for sharing this Eleanor.
