Not-Work Work
I am working on a problem of always working. Even when I’m not working. I don’t mean hard graft. Just the thoughts in my head. I can’t ever switch off. Always thinking of ideas, new products, new stuff to write about. I justify it to me by thinking that some of it is my hobby, so I’m not really working, am I?
But of course I am. It might not be an issue but I know rest and a break is important.
So I’ve been set a challenge.
It’s simple to start with.
To do something that is not work.
So, first stop. To find a podcast that is not related to work at all, at all.
So that I just listen for the love of listening.
But this is hard. I can find an idea in anything!
So - do you have any recommendations?
What do you do to not work? Really not work?

Eleanor, work-life balance is harder that it sounds. I've had many business projects in which I was completely consumed for weeks, and even months. Turning off your phone and media is a big challenge, but I've learned that scheduling time to do that every day, even for 15 minutes can give you a sense of feeling in control, and making progress in other aspects of your life.
