…maybe, if you want it to.
“In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work—brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment.” Carol Dweck, author of Mindset
Changing our mindset is not easy, we have very established ways of thinking and processing. But when you start catching your thoughts you can start to work on being more intentional on what you are thinking.
When was the last time you caught yourself saying ‘ that’s not me’ ‘I’m no good at that’ ‘It’s alright for them ‘It doesn’t work like that for people like me’. These are all fixed mindset. You’ve already decided the outcome. You haven’t given yourself a chance.
What if you said ‘I don’t know, but I could learn’ ‘I’ll try’ ‘I’ll find out how’. What if you tried?
“Picture your brain forming new connections as you meet the challenge and learn. Keep on going.” – Carol Dweck
Have you had a recent experience where you’ve caught yourself saying ‘I can’t do it that’ even though you’d like to.
What if you could switch your mindset? How would that feel?
