Taking like a duck to water.
But even ducks struggle to swim sometimes.
My office looks over a river. Most of the time it calmly flows along minding its own business. I see all kinds of wildlife hanging around.
But today it’s hard raining.
And I was watching the river lapping the banks and gaining rapids over stones and fallen logs.
And then there is this duck.
It’s swimming like crazy duck. Trying to fight the current and get back upstream.
And it’s looking around like what’s going on, Im a duck this shouldn’t be this hard.
It nearly got to the edge but the wind wasn’t on its side and it couldn’t connect.
So it gave up and just let go and floated away on the rapids. It won’t drown. Because it’s a duck. But it might end up somewhere it didn’t really want to be.
But it will be ok.
It’s a duck.
It’s a duck in water.
(I didn’t film it, it wasn’t my story to record).

Duck?
Reminds me of the swans looking like they were swimming backwards because of the direction of the current.
Swan rather than duck was what one project manager advised me to be, serene on the outside, paddling like crazy behind the scenes
