We are going on a trip soon. I’m dreading it.
I used to love travel. Everywhere. But now I’m not so bothered. This trip is (sort of) required.
I’m anticipating the chaos at the airport. So we are getting up really early.
I’m wondering what we’ll do in a long queue if my daughter (or me) needs the toilet (just the two of us - who holds your space?).
I’m wondering what if we miss the flight. What if I forget something.
What if What if What if.
I’ve nearly ruined the trip before it’s even begun!
Nearly, because I caught myself with all these thoughts and worked on letting them go. Nothing I can do about any of it. So we’ll do our best. We’ll try to have fun. And if we miss it, we miss it.
Dread can become reality unless we grab hold of it.
Dread usually has no facts or evidence, just anticipation.
It’s not very useful really.
So goodbye dread, it wasn’t great to meet you.

Well done on letting go of all that over thinking.
I went on an overseas trip earlier this month. Outward and return trips were awful, but the bit in between was brilliant and definitely worth it.
Paul Theroux argues that the journey is as important as the destination, but sometimes the journey is just a means to an end.
Relax, go, enjoy!
Enjoy your trip! It will all be fine (& if it isn't then that is part of the adventure)
