If you were in corporate life in the late 90s / early 2000s then there is very good chance that at some point you were given a book called Who Moved My Cheese?
The book is about two mice and two little people on their quest for cheese. Alone the way the are faced by many setbacks and challenges.
Sniff and Scurry were the spritely mice that I personally thought at times were a little too smug for my liking, I mean after all they were mice, surely it’s their one purpose in life - to find cheese.
So it was no wonder that Haw and Hew (the little people) found it a bit harder a keep focused on their mission (to find cheese). Indeed much of the start of the story is Haw and Hem being quite cross, and done to at the unfairness. But eventually they get over it and start to crack on and learn valuable lessons about moving through change.
Haw leaves scribbles on the wall for his friend Hem to follow. The biggest wall scribble says -
Change Happens

Anticipate Change
Get Ready For The Cheese To Move

Smell The Cheese Often So You Know When It Is Getting Old

Be Ready To Change Quickly And Enjoy It Again
They Keep Moving The Cheese.
Sooooo…
A few questions.
What if Haw and Hew don’t really want the cheese? They just felt like they had to want the cheese, to keep their job, they felt they should chase cheese without question (but lots of Haw Hemming)
So, has your cheese been moved? Are you helping yourself find it? What is your cheese? Do you even have any cheese?
A cheesy one today.
Eleanor
What even is your Cheese?
Not quite an earworm, but my initial reaction to this is "what do you mean you don't like cheese? Not even Wensleydale?"
